Your health is very important. Whether you do cosmetic surgery like facelifts, breast surgery, liposuction, abdominoplasty or labiaplasty or even botox injections, or skin fillers, or fat injections, or laser treatments, if done by unqualified doctors, the complications are many and some cannot be fixed. You must chose the right qualified doctor to perform your procedure. Surfing the internet alone will not sometimes give you the truth as the internet is not checked for accuracy. It is like a giant yellow pages. You must be sure your doctor is trained and qualified by checking their board certification directly from the board office for that specialty. Do not take the chance on your health or quality of life.
It is amazing that in order to pay for the unchecked distribution of money for pork and cronies the administration will tax those who would like electrive surgery. The problem is that elective plastic surgery is 50% of time not elective. People come in with various pectus deformities of breasts, pectoralis muscle abscense, post weight loss skin laxity, large breast problems with back aches, or just psychologically problematic conditions like inverted nipples, large labia, ears that are very prominent, very stretched out abdominal skin due to multiple pregnancies etc. On the surface these are frivolous surgeries, however, psychologically these are very necessary. Will the government be now in charge of what is frivolous and what is necessary? Will the government beurocrats know about you medical problems and keep the information out there to be hacked into? Up till now only insurance cases were documented in cyberspace, but elective plastic surgery was private. Now even your private plastic surgery procedures will be public knowledge as you will have to “tell someone” in government so they can tax you. Women who have inverted nipples or large labia or other private problems which they want to keep private will be quite distraught at having to tell the government officials what they are having done and have that recorded in public records which as we know are not that secure and accessible to many. Soooo****be careful how you vote for all new legislation. It does not seem that the administration has any sensitivity to your problems or have any concern for your privacy. They believe in transparency on all levels especially yours.
When stocks go down many people loose their jobs and must hit the pavement looking for new opportunities. The competition for the few new jobs that are available becomes steeper. One not only must have a great resume, great enthusiasm, the willingness to work hard, honesty and competence, one must also present well. Some of the frown lines must be ironed out with Botox, and some of the deep nasolabial folds should be filled with some juviderm, restalyne or fat. Perhaps the complexion could be improved with a fraxel treatment or a good microdermabrasion. Age spots, and pigment unevenness can also be removed by fraxel or a good skin regimen. Of course if one has more time for recovery and also can afford it plastic surgery could take care of heavy eyelids, drooping jowls, too large and saggy breasts, and too large thighs. To look your best, one must find the best treatments that work for that person. Of course, hair treatments and a good cut as well as a well fitting suit or dress is also very helpful. It may not need to be very expensive, just appropriate and good fitting. So stop by our office for a consultation and help in making you the best looking candidate for any job at this difficult time.
Many women do plastic surgery. The question one must ask is whether they do it to please themselves or the significant other. Will you put in implants if your preset partner likes big breasts and will you take them out if your next partner likes small breasts. The most important thing, I have learned, is that plastic surgery should be a gift to you. You must feel great about yourself and how you look. If you like yourself then most likely the partner you love will love you for who you are how you look and will share same values. If you always do things for others then they will never value you as you do not value yourself. Body image is very important and very personal. It is what helps us have confidence and pursue our career and goals and relationships. Our body image should be good as then we are happy. If our body image is not good we must improve it if there is a reason why it is not good. We should strive to look like what WE like and not what someone else tells us to look like. If we compromise we loose ourselves. It is fun to be individualistic and look as best as we can for ourselves alone.
Lately many people have been under tremendous stress. One sees it in their faces and on their skin. Many women come in with very blotchy skin, with more age spots and pigmentation changes. Many have more wrinkles because of involuntary teeth clenching or frowning due to stress. Many have dry skin and darker circles under their eyes. Many just look drawn and tired. At times like these just a mere lipstick will not do the trick. It is good to see someone who can evaluate your skin and perhaps give you the appropriate cream, or do the appropriate treatment which will improve the aging looking skin. In my office today we do much more skin care than ever before, because people are stressed more than ever before. Even if people have a facelift, the skin itself needs additional care. The care though must be appropriate for that person. Therefore, one must see a professional before spending money on stuff that does not work and may cause more breakouts. Fraxel which is a noninvasive laser treatment is very good for many people, but some may even want the CO2 fraxel laser which has more downtime but is very effective in skin tightening and getting rid of unwanted blemishes. It would be good to get evaluated and treated. Many fillers are also helpful if given in appropriate amounts in the appropriate places. One must know what filler will be best for the patient as all are different. So not everything out there is for everyone and not everyone is for all that is out there. Professional evaluation of your skin is very important. So come in and reduce the evidence of stress. It may make you more attractive and relaxed looking if you must look for the position you want.
Even though the economy is down and we are confused as to what will be and when things will get better, I believe that looking your best still is a real pick me up. Perhaps, being out for an elective surgery is not the time, fraxel or botox treatments have no downtime and might just brighten your day. When you want to keep your job, or find a new one you should always look your best. It is simple with all the new injectables and lasers to accomplish that. Of course the right exercise and diet is important as the hair and dress. However, people always like to have people who look good and take care of themselves working for them or with them. So see what you can do to enhance yourself and make yourself attractive in this difficult time. Perhaps a small treatment make give you the extra confidence to go and ask for the position and perhaps get it. Whatever works.
New year and new hopes and dreams and expectations. We want to feel as good as we can so we must look as good as we feel. New resolutions–go on a diet and loose 5 lbs. Go to the gym at least three times a week. Yoga for relaxation, deep breathing rather than screaming when we are angry and so on. However, there are certain maintenance activities which we must do to look good. Just like we repaint a kitchen, or redo a bathroom or fix a million other things we own. We do own our bodies and those need fixing and maintenance as well. Soooo-my friends we must maintain our skin with the proper creams. Those who have dry skin must put on more oclusive creams those with oily more drying and those with age spots and shallow wrinkles and irregular texture perhaps the fraxel treatment would be of value. Deep crevices by our lips, or nose should be filled in and the frown lines that make us look very angry could benefit from botox. Our leg spider veins must be looked after, and tx either by laser or by injection. All these tx are well within a budget that over a year could be manageable. Of course never discount the liposuction of those thighs that will not go away no matter what. Never discount the breast lift for those breasts that sag deeper and deeper into a depressed and sorry state. Oh my-am looking in the mirror and now what on earth happened to my stomach. It used to be tight and now it also buldges. Well after 6 mo of sit ups if it aint gone perhaps a tummytuck might be in order. Many women who are determined and loose over 50 lbs now undergo skin trimming surgery. After the mons pubis is lifted, one looks down and lol!!!!look at those hanging labia. Well, even there is help for these stretched out hanging labia that look like elephant ears. One can reduce them, plump them and make them look virginal. How about that. Even the vaginal introitus can be made tighter and feel much better during sex. Ah yes, sex–what is that. Well, when you feel good you may want to indulge a bit????The lucky thing in all this is that these conditions are fixable. It is not a terminal condition altho life is. Therefore, fix and indulge before those cataracts start coming cause by then it will not matter. Would love to see you in the office to discuss, tummytuck, breast lifts, facial injections and treatments, liposuction or labia reduction or just a chat about it all. 2008-so what; 2009-now what.
On Dec. 17th an article appeared in the New York Times in Fashion and style section written by Natasha Singer which suggests that this economic situation will stop people from thinking about improving themselves. I do agree that up until now the media was obsessed with cosmetic surgery. There were shows dedicated to it like “Dr. 90210″ and “extreme Makeover”. Many other shows had episodes about cosmetic surgery as well. Recently the media mainly speaks about the election and our economic problems. Many people have lost jobs and many worry about the kids schools and maintaining their homes. Of course luxury items like plastic surgery will be put on hold. It is not because people no longer want it, or think it is bad, but because they feel they cannot afford it. These are uncertain times. The article mentions that many do not like the botox look. However, many do, and when financial times get better many will return to have their usual treatments. I must note however, that even tho some plastic surgeons report that their case load is down this year, injectables and laser treatments I feel are the same. It is always true that when times are bad, makeup, liquor, and entertainment usually do well. Injectables, fraxel, dermabrasions and other skin treatments are like the makeup. People continue to partake in them. Many who are looking for a new job must look good. Sometimes looking good and upbeat makes the difference between getting a new job or not. Many feel better when they look better. Women, no matter what their finances are want to look pretty. I would not sing doom and gloom for plastic surgery. It will always be there and it will always be desired. Perhaps, some are waiting but they will be back and just like after 9/11, when the time of shock and fear past, the numbers of procedures skyrocketted. I am a plastic surgeon in Manhattan. I have been in this field for 28 years. My clientelle is already established. I started with the grandmothers, then the mothers and now their daughters. I know that my patients at least will continue as their budgests allow to partake in what made them so happy. Confidence, and self esteem are very important, and we do what we can to get it. Whether it is exercise, haircut, makeup, cosmetic procedure, manicure or pedicure, we will do it. We cannot retreat in doom and gloom. We must be positive and believe in a bright future. The article tells us that plastic surgery, just like all luxuries we must wait or postpone buying it but eventually we cannot resist and will come back for more. Our body keeps aging, and one wrinkle is OK but when the next wrinkle comes up, and the breasts sag, and the abdomen bulges, and the thighs expand we will fix it.
