Is your doctor board certified?

your health is important

your health is important

Your health is very important. Whether you do cosmetic surgery like facelifts, breast surgery, liposuction, abdominoplasty or labiaplasty or even botox injections, or skin fillers, or fat injections, or laser treatments, if done by unqualified doctors, the complications are many and some cannot be fixed. You must chose the right qualified doctor to perform your procedure.  Surfing the internet alone will not sometimes give you the truth as the internet is not checked for accuracy.  It is like a giant yellow pages.  You must be sure your doctor is trained and qualified  by checking their board certification directly from the board office for that specialty. Do not take the chance on your health or quality of life.

Labiaplasty

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

I have been doing labiaplasties for thirty years.  My patients are often confused regarding the methods used and whether laser should be used.  There is the straight line technique where you trim the labia in the outer edge resulting in same shape but much smaller and then there is the wedge shape which leaves a scar across the labia and shortens it but does not narrow it around the vagina.  It also does not address the peripheral pigment that patients always complain about.  Lasers have complications of burns and if comes too close to the bottom of the wedge some sensation and blood supply may be lost.  I prefer after looking at all my cases not to use lasers and do the peripheral trimming rather than the wedge.  It heals better, the pigment is addressed and does the job with less complications and better feel and healing.  Why complicate matters in the most important area of the woman’s body.  I also do not find anything unethical about doing this surgery.  It is a choice for women whether to walk around with flappy labia or feel more comfortable with smaller labia.  It is not different than breast size change or fixing flappy ears.  I hate when everyone tries to evaluate and questions women’s judgment and her right to have what she deems good for herself.

Taxing Beauty

transparency

transparency

It is amazing that in order to pay for the unchecked distribution of money for pork and cronies the administration will tax those who would like electrive surgery.  The problem is that elective plastic surgery is 50% of time not elective.  People come in with various pectus deformities of breasts, pectoralis muscle abscense, post weight loss skin laxity, large breast problems with back aches, or just psychologically problematic conditions like inverted nipples, large labia, ears that are very prominent, very stretched out abdominal skin due to multiple pregnancies etc.  On the surface these are frivolous surgeries, however, psychologically these are very necessary.  Will the government be now in charge of what is frivolous and what is necessary? Will the government beurocrats know about you medical problems and keep the information out there to be hacked into? Up till now only insurance cases were documented in cyberspace, but elective plastic surgery was private. Now even your private plastic surgery procedures will be public knowledge as you will have to “tell someone” in government so they can tax you. Women who have inverted nipples or large labia or other private problems which they want to keep private will be quite distraught at having to tell the government officials what they are having done and have that recorded in public records which as we know are not that secure and accessible to many. Soooo****be careful how you vote for all new legislation.  It does not seem that the administration has any sensitivity to your problems or have any concern for your privacy. They believe in transparency on all levels especially yours.

Michelle Obama’s arms

Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Finally we have someone who takes pride in showing her body. Michelle is confident and, therefore, showing her arms is not a big deal. Her confidence obviously is so strong that no one even dares to criticize what she does. Her husband who is the most powerful man in the world and quite the looker himself adores her. Why does he adore her?? For the same reason that everyone adores her. It is her confidence in herself that makes him respect her as he beams with pride everytime she is around. Sooo- what does that tell you. Your self confidence is very important. How you feel about yourself is the key. Your feeling about yourself says tons and communicates to all whether you are great, just so and so or a true failure to be dismissed. So you must boost your confidence and pride in yourself whatever it takes. Diet, exercise, a new lipstick and makeup or haircu or a bit of fillers, botox, latisse to bat those long eyelashes, fraxel for good skin, lipo for skinny arms, or a tuck here and there. Vaginal tightening anyone, or labiaplasty for great confident sex life?????? Your self confidence will boost your relationship, get you a job or keep you on the job. You are what you think you are and not what they say you are.

Your appliances and You

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

I bet your appliances are younger than you. I wonder why you changed them. I think your car is probably younger than you. What about the paint on your walls or the rugs on the floor. Your computer? furniture, sheets, dishes??? You see, all need maintenance and some are even discarded and new ones brought in. Why? they do not look good any more and they do not work as well as the new ones. Well, we cannot do this to people and ourselves. We cannot throw our old selves out and get new bodies. However, we can REJUVENATE whatever we can. So, we get facelifts, and breastlifts, and breast augmentations for deflated breasts after childbirth and we get tummytucks, we get liposuction, butt lifts, and even labia reduction and vagina tightening.  Why-cause that is as close to new as we can get. If we are not embarrassed to do it to our dishwashers and washing machines and cars why are we embarrassed to do it to ourselves? Why we are not embarrassed to paint our walls yet we wonder if we should dye our gray hair? what is the difference between painting our walls which are old and cracking and painting our hair which are old and gray? We fill cracks in our bathtub edges or wood furniture, what about the cracks we see on our bodies? So get out the facial fillers like juviderm, restylene, fat, radiesse and whatever else you can find and fill out the cracks. You iron your sheets, what about ironing your wrinkles with botox or fraxel lasers. You often fix your old plumbing especially if it is loose. Well tighten up the vagina and loose labia and whatever else has loosened up in your body.

You see, our body is a machine that runs for 80-90 years if we are lucky. Surely, nothing else runs that long, and at least nothing else runs that long without maintenance and repair. So be kind to your body just like you are kind to your appliances, and cars and other possessions- MAINTAIN it, polish it, and keep it youthful and happy.

Tummytuck with vaginal and labial rejuvenation in New York

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Often after weight loss and after multiple pregnancies the abdomen skin hangs, the muscles are weak and separated, the mons pubis descends and the vaginal and labial tissues atrophy and weaken. In one surgery, done on outpatient basis, the tummytuck with mons pubis elevation, tightening of the vaginal canal and shortening of the labia minora can be done. The labia majora can also be modified as well. If there are varicosities present, they can be removed. If atrophy is present the excess skin can be removed thus the inner tissue will fill out smaller envelope of skin making the labia majora more youthful looking. If they are already heavy then they can be thinned out as well. A consultation on tummytuck, mons pubis lifts and labia and vaginal rejuvenation would allow a patient to learn a lot about what can be done to enhance comfort, sexuality, appearance and confidence. In New York, we have a certified surgery suite, and you have three plastic surgeons to choose from. Since these subjects are sensitive, your relationship with your doctor will be very important. Hope to see you soon.
